Welcome Message

Hi, I’m Matthew Sebastiani

I grew up in Burquitlam, attended local public schools (Miller Park, Banting, and Port Moody Secondary), played sports in our recreation centres, and spent countless hours in our parks and green spaces. I am passionate about our city and dedicated to serving our community. For years I’ve given back through community service, advocacy, and leadership across a range of causes.

Now, I’m stepping forward to serve on City Council because I believe in a Coquitlam that is affordable, inclusive, and ready for the future.

Why I’m Running

Coquitlam deserves thoughtful and responsible leadership for the years ahead. I’m running to bring a fresh, independent perspective grounded in policy experience, financial stewardship, and a deep commitment to the people who call this city home.

My priorities reflect what I’ve heard from residents across our city:

  • Practical solutions to affordability

  • Responsible financial stewardship

  • Safe, inclusive, and accessible communities

  • Enhance community life

  • A future-ready Coquitlam

Together, these priorities reflect a vision for a city that works for everyone, and a commitment to Building Coquitlam’s Future Together.
